Highlands & Islands Woodfuel Group

Introduction

The first meeting of the Highlands and Islands Woodfuel Group was held on Thursday 23rd February at the Kingsmills Suite, Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Stadium.

A press release reporting from the meeting states:

" OPERATORS in the Highland woodfuel industry have given a resounding thumbs up to proposals for a new regional forum to represent the sector.

More than 50 representatives of businesses and organisations from across the sector gathered in Inverness on Thursday (23 Feb) to lay the foundations of a new industry body."

Next Meeting

The next Highlands and Islands Woodfuel Group meeting will be held on May 31st at the Duke of Gordon Hotel in Kingussie.

The morning session will focus on our short to medium term aims and will be centered around business and economics.  The afternoon on our long term aim of increase in woodland creation and biomass production. 

The agenda will be sent out  approximately two week before the event. Please contact Amanda Calvert if you wish to attend the meeting.
