    • Forestry Commission Scotland and the Scottish Regional Woodfuel Forums, in association with Scottish Procurement and the Woodfuel Suppliers group, arranged this seminar for potential end users of biomass (wood fuel) covered under Scottish Procurement's national framework and suppliers of wood fuel/biomass energy and highlighted the significant opportunities associated with the RHI and Scottish Procurement's biomass procurement framework.

    • An update from Scottish Green Investment Portfolio and the Bank of Scotland on current trends in finance for projects and businesses in the renewables sector.

      Scottish Renewables Heat and Bioenergy Seminar 2013

      The event presented an opportunity to hear from government, industry and other key stakeholders and to discuss the next steps and challenges we face. The event included a focus on district heating and heat mapping, an update on Forth Ports proposals, a focus on the Scotch Whisky Industry's environmental strategy and update on Tullis Russell, Markinch's, biomass combined heat and power plant.

    • This seminar investigated the best use of wood fibre and highlighted options for the appropriate application of timber in construction and the woodfuel sector. It provided an opportunity for architects to gain a greater understanding of the potential to utilise woodfuel heating systems in low carbon building design.

    • 12 March 2014 to 12 March 2014 - Bridge of Allan

      District Heating Workshop

      This workshop aimed to outline how, with careful planning and management, housing associations, social housing landlords, farms and estates, public and third sector bodies, educational establishments and other community and commercial organisations might benefit from the opportunities associated with wood-fuelled district heating systems.

    • The event included presentations from the Green Investment Bank and Lombard on finance and DECC on the Renewable Heat Incentive and related biomass sustainability criteria/Biomass Suppliers List.

    • With thanks to Hopetoun Estate and Smiths Gore, this event discussed how,by using the right expertise and equipment to plan, fell, extract and market their timber, woodland owners can manage their woodland to maximise its economic and environmental value and potentially create a new revenue stream for their business.
