Wood chips

Wood chips are now widely used by businesses, communities and public sector organisations to generate heat. Being a relatively bulky fuel to transport, they are ideal for meeting local heat demand.

Wood chips can be processed to meet the requirements of a wide variety of systems, chip size and moisture content being two key specifications.

Wood chip systems can provide automated, clean and convenient heating at a range of scales, from larger domestic properties up to large scale systems for hospitals, factories, schools and district heating schemes with heating loads in the megawatt range.

Wood chips can also be used to fuel combined heat and power (CHP) plants where the heat produced during electricity generation is used to provide hot water, rather than being lost as in conventional power stations.
