The Woodfuel Demand and Usage Report 2016 for Scotland for data
from 2015 has been released.
Headlines include:
- a total of 5,985 woodfuel boilers were installed in Scotland by
the end of 2015
- the total amount of woodfuel used was £1,248k oven dry
tonnes
- the % increase from 2014 to 2015 was significantly lower at
13.7% than the increase from 2013 to 2014 at 41.3%.
- the majority of woodfuel used in Scotland coninues to be virgin
fibre, sawmill co-products and process residues.
- woodfuel boilers contributed 3,276k MWh in 2015 to Scottish
Government's renewable heat targets.
