On 6th October 2008, the Scottish Government launched its Renewable Energy Framework consultation and announced it would run a round of funding for biomass, specifically to encourage renewable heat use by businesses and in district heating demonstrators.

Low Carbon Buildings Programme
The DTI's Low Carbon Buildings Programme is a UK wide programme, with grants totalling £10.5 million available to householders and community organisations for microgeneration technology. A further £18 million will be made available to public, not for profit and private sector organisations for medium and large scale microgeneration projects.
