Forestry Commission Scotland, The Cairngorms National Park
Authority and The Crown Estate held a one-day workshop on the
27th March 2012 at Tomintoul. The workshop provided advice,
discussion and practical demonstrations on managing small woodlands
for timber and woodfuel production.
Outcomes of the event:
- Improve your woodlands for better timber quality and increased
biodiversity
- Increase income to enable woodland management by reaching new
markets for wood as fuel
- Learn how to select appropriate markets for wood products
- Realise the potential to reduce heating costs and your carbon
footprint, and secure a sustainable fuel supply
