An Angus primary school has been given another A rating after installing a carbon-efficient heating system.
Tannadice Primary School is now using a biomass boiler fuelled by wood chippings, a system classed as carbon neutral.
Angus Council's corporate services convener Mark Salmond is confident the school will offer an effective and environmentally-sound alternative to existing heating systems.
Mr Salmond said: "In comparison to the conventional heating system at Tannadice the biomass system is expected to save about 103 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year.
"If we could replicate that across other schools and council properties it would bring a significant reduction in the council's overall carbon emissions and bring us closer to the targets we need to achieve by 2010."
