A Special Meeting of the Grampian Biomass Working Group was held to discuss the RHI

It was agreed at the meeting that the link to the Woodfuel Training survey and the following presentation should be made available.

27th March 2012

Forestry Commission Scotland, The Cairngorms National Park Authority and The Crown Estate held a one-day workshop on the 27th March 2012 at Tomintoul. The workshop provided advice, discussion and practical demonstrations on managing small woodlands for timber and woodfuel production.

Outcomes of the event: 

  • Improve your woodlands for better timber quality and increased biodiversity
  • Increase income to enable woodland management by reaching new markets for wood as fuel
  • Learn how to select appropriate markets for wood products
  • Realise the potential to reduce heating costs and your carbon footprint, and secure a sustainable fuel supply
