Formerly known as HETAS Solid Biomass Assurance Scheme
HETAS is the official body recognised by government to approve
solid fuel domestic heating appliances, fuels and services.
HETAS have introduced a biomass fuel quality scheme covering
logs, wood chip, pellets and briquettes. The scheme will enable the
public to easily identify quality wood fuel suppliers, increasing
customer confidence in wood fuel supply.
Benefits of the scheme:
- The wood fuel customer will to be assured that he is buying the
right product for their installation, both safe and efficient.
- Producers can demonstrate that they have good processes in
place to guarantee deliveries of the right product.
- Product labelling is consistent across suppliers which enables
the consumer to make an informed choice.
- Producers can attain positive differentiation for their premium
product.
- The scheme promotes a good image for wood fuel heating.

classifications, based on the CEN/TC
